Denise is the founder and manufacturer of 'Luscious',
a Big Island based body care business. All products are made without
animal, chemical additives, or synthetics, the way nature planned
it.
As a teenager I became intrigued with the art of organic handcrafted
body care. I learned much from my grandmother and while having much
difficulty removing the animal fats and lye, from her soap recipe;
trial and error along with dedication proved to be my best teacher.
I've been reading everything on the subject I could get my hands
on, practicing and perfecting my original recipes and technique
since I began the business over eight years ago. I've fallen in love
with this craft.
I became so passionate about making soap that I left my very successful
professional photography career and began "Luscious by Denise
Turner". I now work harder than I ever did before (and I thought
I worked hard before). I just love it!
Heart and soul are put into every batch, much care and effort to
make things just right go on behind the scenes. Many late night
or early morning hours have been invested into handcrafting these
products!
Family and friends have encouraged me tremendously, they are all
so aware of my commitment to excellence.
There are easier methods to making soap, quickie methods etc., my
belief is in the old fashioned approach, everything is made from
scratch. It's the difference between microwave cooking, fast food
restaurants versus good old fashioned home cooking'! You just can't
rush the process and come out with as good a product! I have painstakingly
pre-selected each ingredient for its particular quality.
As a vegetarian, I use only the finest ingredients (no animal additives,
no dyes, no synthetics). Only organic oils, herbs and spices in
our products. I have researched fruit and flower extracts and pure
essential oils from all over the world and have chosen the absolute
best for this product line. The lovely colors are from specially
selected plant and earth-based ingredients.
While we are living in the age of rush-rush, and hi -tech, "profit
margin being the bottom line way of thinking", great pride
is taken in handcrafting
something that puts pure quality first.
Keeping clients pleased, relaxed and well pampered is the priority.
We all deserve these luxuries in this life, this is my contribution.
